I love reading book reviews and I follow so many book bloggers on Facebook and on Instagram. The hype about The Book of Love was huge. It seems like I was the only one who didn’t own a copy of and I couldn’t let that be for any longer.

Book Blurb

From the moment their eyes met across the room at a house party, Erin and Dom were meant to be.

If only it could be so simple. Over the years, the highs and lows of life conspire to keep them apart.

But a notebook can bring them together. On the blank pages of their love story, they write down everything they can’t always say – the secrets, the hopes and the love.

Falling in love is easy but staying in love is where the story begins…

They said that you can’t judge a book by its cover but that’s not the case here. As you see from the name of it The Book of Love and the tagline A story for everyone who has loved and lost you should know exactly what to expect from the book.

Prepare yourself and ensure you have a box of tissues nearby as you just might need them. Yes, I was reading the reviews of Fionnuala Kearney’s book that this book will make you cry but I didn’t believe back then, now… I can say that they were right.

It’s my first book from Fionnuala Kearney and I find that her manner of writing is incredibly vivid. I can assure you that she knows how to touch the reader’s soul.

It took me so long to read it because December was such a busy month for me (no, I’m not working at the North Pole but still it was such a roller coaster). I had almost no time to read and instead for reading it for a day or 2 it took me almost a month but I guess I’m easily distracted around the festive season.

Back to The Book of Love which I would describe as an emotional read, that left me with tears in my eyes. If you like well written love stories then this one is for you.

Erin and Dom are one of those couples that seems like they are meant to be. On their wedding day her dad has a very special present for them – The book of love, in which they have to write down when they find it hard to express their feelings. At the beginning they are both a bit sceptical about it but many years later the books has changed their lives in a unique way.
