I mainly got this book because I fell in love with the cover so I just couldn’t resist. Now when I read it I can honestly say that it’s a magical story, lovely written and charming.
Grace grew up in Sandybridge, helping her parents sort junk from vintage treasures, but she always longed to escape to a bigger world. And she made it, travelling the world for her job, falling in love and starting a family. So why is she back in the tiny seaside town she’d long left behind, hanging out with Charlie, the boy who became her best friend when they were teenagers?
It turns out that travelling the world may not have been exactly what Grace needed to do. Perhaps everything she wanted has always been at home.
The story is set in a small seaside town called Sandybridge which is home for Grace although she would give everything up, for the opportunity to leave it. She even found her first love and first true friendship there, but she still doesn’t think it’s enough to keep her in her home town. She wants to travel and discover the world, but as you know home is where the heart is, but where is Grace’s heart ?
It took her a while to discover the answer to this question even with the help of a very special friend who might have a vision of her future. However can you make the right decision even with guidance?
Grace’s parents own an antique shop. She spent her early years helping them with it. One day when they were in Sandybridge Hall to take antiques from there to deliver to their shop, she found something very special, something that keeps all the answers she might need in the future. Even Grace is a bit sceptical at the beginning but soon she finds out her new discovery can be very helpful in her life. Everyone need a little bit of guidance, don’t we?
I truly enjoyed the book. The characters are so touching and the storyline is heart warming. There is love, there is an amazing friendship, beloved family and honestly do you need anything more?
Well if you do then I am sure you will like Remi, he is the very special friend of Grace who keeps the answers of what Grace’s future holds. I was really impatient to read what he has to tell her and honestly would love to have it in my life.
This book has a real touch of a magic about it and this really enhances the storyline.
I would love to read more books from Ali McNamara. It was the first one I have read but it definitely won’t be my last.
